Annual Events @ The Rathgeber center

We host celebrations to help families feel at home while they are experiencing major life setbacks. These events bring a small bit of happiness during a time of need.

*We want to ensure that every child experiences the joy of gifts under their tree on Christmas morning. But this year, it’s not just about toys — it’s about hope in a time of hardship.
Across the country, a shortage in funding has led to gaps in social services, leaving more families than ever turning to The Salvation Army for help. A lack of resources doesn’t mean a lack of need — and it certainly doesn’t mean a lack of hope. That’s why we’re here. But we can’t do it without you.
You can adopt a local Angel online, or make sure a Forgotten Angel isn’t left behind by visiting one of our partner Walmart or mall locations.

The last day to adopt an Angel is November 30, and the last day to bring in your gifts is December 5. Give what you can — because this year, your generosity stretches further than ever.

This season, we’ve seen a dramatic increase in Angel Tree applications. Volunteers and donors are needed now more than ever to meet the overwhelming demand.
No act of generosity is too small. Every Angel adopted is a life touched — and a reminder that hope still exists in our communities.

  • The children at Rathgeber go back to school with new friends and necessary supplies to get them through the school year after we assemble bags to accommodate their needs.

  • Pumpkin painting, treats, and costumes! Oh my!

  • Santa, reindeer, scent of tidings, The Night before Christmas reading, stockings, crafting, Christmas galore!

  • Members volunteer for shifts at The Salvation Army warehouse to help organize gifts for little angels and hand them to their parents to ensure all faces are smiling on Christmas morning.

  • Volunteers get together to make wonderful memories and build Easter baskets for kids at the Rathgeber Center for Families.

  • Just a little token to the parents to help soothe some of life’s journeys and burdens.

  • Members assist with VBS activities led by educators from The Salvation Army Staff. We help with activities like crafting, bible verse studies, singing, and games.
